and has over ten years experience with Geographical Information
Systems (GIS). He has co-authored national policies in GIS
and IT (Guyana), conducted Remote Sensing research as part
of an international team, and serves in the MapAction

Dr. Owen Day

Founding board member with a focus on international
fund-raising and development of BRT's research and conservation
programmes. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry
from Oxford University (1988), and a Masters (1991) and
PhD (1997) in Marine Biology from the School of Ocean Sciences,
University of Wales, Bangor. He has spent the last 7 years in Tobago developing research and education programmes for the protection of Caribbean coral reefs and believes passionately in the need for stronger partnerships between government, NGOs and the private sector for environmental conservation. He has over 7 years experience in underwater videography and currently uses a Sony Z1 (HDV) camera with a Gates UnderWater Housing fitted with a Fathom Super-Wide angle lens. |

Lawrence Duprey

Caribbean, North, South and Central America. As chairman
of CLICO since 1988, Mr. Duprey has led the company's growth
to over 8B TT dollars in assets. Awarded the Chaconia Gold
Media at the 1999 Trinidad & Tobago Independence Day
Awards and also honoured with the Millennium Award by the
South Chamber of Commerce in 2000. |

Dave Elliott

Dave Elliott has worked in video production for seven years. He was a cameraman and video editor for Intra Caribbean Video Specialists in Barbados between 1998 to 2000, before moving to Tobago as the Production Manager for Channel 5. Projects included the CARIFTA Games, international cricket, concerts, and live coverage of THA elections in 2005. |

brings to the team a wealth of local knowledge and is always

Dr. Richard Langton
Director

Founding board member. Adjunct
Professor of Marine Sciences at the University
of Maine. He holds a BA (hons. 1971) from Northeastern
University, Boston USA, and a MSc. and PhD. from the University
of Wales, UK in 1973 and 1975 respectively. He pursued a
research career with the US National Marine Fisheries Service
and the Maine Department of Marine Resources, prior to dedicating
his full-time efforts to the Buccoo Reef Trust in 2000.
He is the founder and President of the Buccoo Reef Trust
USA; a 501(C)3 non-profit company incorporated in Maine.
He has published over 65 scientific papers and popular articles
in marine science. |

Gerald MacFarlane

Founding board member. Former member of
the Tobago House of Assembly (THA) and Secretary for Agriculture,
Environment, Marine Affairs and State Lands (1989-1996).
He served as Leader of Assembly Business from 1988-1996.
He worked with the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation
in Agriculture (IICA) to develop the first Tobago Agriculture
Sector Study. In collaboration with the National Institute
for Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology (NIHERST)
he sponsored a major agriculture seminar for Tobago in 1993.
He also served on the Trinidad & Tobago negotiating
team that finalized a fishing agreement with Barbados. |

Richard Parkinson
Scientific Diver/ Marine Biologist

Richard graduated as a Marine Biologist
in 2003, and has been involved in marine science education
at the University (Venezuela). He has worked as well as
an aquatic sports supervisor (Indian Ocean) and used to
work as a divemaster for a diving company (Tobago). Now,
he works on monitoring the coral reefs of Tobago using underwater
video and the latest technology. |

Sandra Timothy

Sandra holds an MSc in Agriculture from
the University of the West Indies. She has worked for the
Tobago House of Assembly for over 15 years and her experience
spans agricultural development, estate rehabilitation, agro-industrial
cottage development and postharvest management. Before joining
the BRT, she was chair of the Tobago Bio-safety Committee
and represented the THA on the Cabinet Appointed National
Bio-safety Committee. She was also the representative for
the Division of Agriculture, Marine Affairs and the Environment
on the Tobago Regional Social Human and Development Council
for Poverty Reduction. |

Kaye Trotman
Director
She received a BSc. in Management Studies,
with honors, from the University of the West Indies. She
has worked with the Small Business Development Company Ltd
(SBDC), Republic Bank Limited (RBL) and the Venture Capital
Incentive Programme (VCIP). During her working career she
focused entrepreneurial development, small business management
and training, banking and venture capital/equity financing.
She lectures in empowerment workshops and provides counsel
to a number of community-based organizations. |
